I was born at a very early
age, back in ’57, in “the old country.” So old it no longer
exists: Czechoslovakia. When I was ten the Russians invaded and we ended
up in Wisconsin.
Fast forward ten years and you'll find me a fresh graduate of the University
of Wisconsin with a BS degree in film and television production. Working
as a news cameraman. Heading to UCLA for a master's degree.
Mid-1980's: Got the Master of Fine Arts Degree in film and TV production
while being a Teaching Assistant at UCLA.
Worked for Mattel Toys in their AV department, then for an independent
LA production house.
With a measure of work experience behind my belt I moved to the San Francisco
Bay Area and started freelancing as a cameraman and editor. Within two
years I bought my first camera and editing package. Slow dissolve to the
